Ode to the Muskrat

I shot my first basketball game of the season tonight in Algonac. I have been working at the paper for a little more than a year and a half and tonight was the first time I set foot in Algonac High School's gym. They have this giant muskrat on the wall. I'm not sure what to think about it. I have heard the animals can be quite nasty but this little guy despite crashing through the gym wall at halftime seems to have a glint of sparkle in his eye. I couldn't help but make a photo.

This little girl couldn't wait to help her father "saw" their Christmas tree.

Christmas has arrived

A big guy in town sponsors Christmas light and window displays each year. We always end up covering it. This is for all those who feel the need to get all warm and fuzzy.

New boys in town

The Marine City boys played some great football in front of what might have been just about the entire town Friday night at Ford Field. It was very cool to photograph these guys win their first ever state championship.

Ford Field

As you can tell by the time on the post today was a long one as my step mom and I traveled to Gaylord High School to photograph the Semi state final football game. It was a close one, back and fourth until the third quarter when Marine City got the break they needed.
There is no way that this kid got his hands on the ball for a touchdown but like magic 6 points appeared on the scoreboard.

The King

Keith was my stand in today for a pregnant woman. The lights were a little hot but it gave him a nice glow. Thanks Keith.

House

A couple of house photos from Tuesday. The siding is finally finished and Steve got all of the kitchen floor down. Today the word is all of the cabinets are in place.

24 weeks

Tonight I spent some time with this little girl. She was born after only 24 week of pregnancy. After a long battle for her life she turned out just fine. She had a lot to say as we spent time with her dolls and the family dogs in the living room.

Harbor, harbor, harbor beach!

Saturday Harbor Beach, a little school up in Michigan's Thumb won their football regional. The thing that made this game for me was the daylight. It is so nice to photograph football when you can actually see the ball.

Division 4 football

Ok, so I am very aware that it has been a almost two weeks since I have last posed any thing. Sorry about the wait to all the loyal people out there. My life has been busy and I have spent the extra time picking out stuff for the house and going to bed early.

I sent the weekend photographing football and driving more than 400 miles. Here's one from the Marine City game from behind the stands. This dad with the flag kept calling home and giving reports from the stands. Next week Marine City plays Kingsford a team more than eight hours from here I'll know tomorrow if I'm going on a road trip.
