licker

During my last trip to the fair for the year this guy greeted me with a great big lick. I felt sorry for him and his fate so I let him get a good taste of both my hands before moving on.

Fair

It rained this morning the first day of the fair week maybe that means the rest of the week will be dry. There were some good times out there. I looked but most of my fair buddies have moved on. I wish them all well this week.

Oorah!

A Leatherneck motorcade honored Marine veteran Ted Archambault with an impromptu rendition of the "Marine's Hymn" during his 90th birthday celebration at Marysville Park Sunday. Ted is one of the few Pearl Harbor survivors. The photos I made just don't compare to the way I felt when Ted let out a Oorah! He told me a story about how his commanding offerers would tell his unit "Well done" when they really did good. I think at 90 Ted deserves a huge "Well done."

Cars

I spent tonight with some oldies but goodies. It was nice to take my time and make a couple of photos. Maybe next year I'll get into the action with my hubby and our Mustang.

Egg song

The chickens came Wednesday and this morning while I was out working in the yard I heard the egg song. I checked and sure enough one of the girls left one for me.

Biggest fan

The Fourth of July softball tournament is underway in Pine Grove Park. This fan was one of those people you hope doesn't sit down next to you. Keep a tight grip on your hotdog and soda pop.

Deep breath for the soul

I made a few photos yesterday while out with Chris Walker exploring Michigan's upper thumb. The land was breathtaking and the light was full of gifts. Heres a few from Huron and Tuscola counties.
