So this guy gave the city his boat, a sail boat, but the city now has to do something with it. Today a crane helped to lift it from the Black River for the winter. Yours truly was there to wittiness the greatness. It looks a little like a sea plane if you ask me.

Saturday nights
No, it's not the moon but a giant egg on display at the Icehawks game Saturday night. after numerous attempts at keeping hockey in Port Huron the ity is at it again. Tonight was the birth of Hawky the official mascot of the Port Huron Icehawks of course he had a little help from the hawketts.
Although I think hockey in Port Huron is pointless I do enjoy a scrumptious soft pretzel with cheese during my edits.

Little Sarah Orr
My family used to go camping with the Orrs when we were smaller in northern Michigan. Little Sarah, the youngest of four has grown up. I made her some senior photos this aftenoon in the woods behind her house. The kitty wanted a part of it too. I'm hoping she likes them, I'd like to start taking more of them and making a little extra money too.

What a treat
"This is a treat," Craig McCue of Marysville said while letting out a little more line. "We don't normally get winds that will carry a kite this good," McCue said while putting a little more tension on the line causing his box kite to soar higher above the St. Clair River from Desmond Landing Sunday afternoon. "It's just so incredibly relaxing," he said as he recalled his earliest kite flying memories with his father. "He would tie it to my shirt button and I would just watch it."

Creatures at the park
I found these girls riding their bike with an old frosting container with a few slugs in it they found at the park. They thought they were snails but the last time I checked snails need a shell to live in and these creatures had no such thing. They didn't believe me. It's to hard to argue with a 5-year-old.

Brown City and back
There wasn't much happening today at work so I made a few pictures for myself on the way to Brown City to photograph the fire chief. Fall colors are starting to pop, soy beans are making their way to local elevators and this old house has been begging to be photographed for more than a month now. I love my job.

Last service
After 107 years Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Smiths Creek closed its doors after one last service today. Mary, 84 has been attending services every Sunday with her husband Ray, 88 all of her married life. Her children where raised in the Church along with their children."There's a lot of good memories here," she said. Parishioners packed the tiny Church next to the railroad tracks to worship one last time. The opening hymn, "Hail Mary Gentle Woman", it pretty much sums it up.

100th post
I've made it to 100 and I'm pretty happy about that but I bet not as happy as Donell after scoring 4 touch downs and helping lead Peck in their still perfect season. The second little guy wasn't to trilled to be the homecoming prince but hey I don't think I would be either. I followed this couple home in their 1950 Chevy. It was a good day.

By Christmas
I spent a little time out at the house this afternoon making some pictures. Steve is the greatest. He's made the front porch of our place. I can't wait to spend cool nights out there next summer. My tub finaly came in about a week ago and the siding started going up yesterday. It's moving along. I hope to be moved in by Christmas.
A big picture
So this one isn't new... It's from back in May when John and I visited Mackinac Island. We had to to get coffee each morning at this little place in town before we set out on our adventures. The smell of a cup of the black stuff always reminds me of him. The layout is new and exciting you say... this is my first post with big pictures. I hope you all enjoy them. It took me quite a bit of "Googling" and a hell of a lot of luck to get this thing working. (keith I'll give you the scoop Thursday, it's crazy simple.) Enjoy the big pictures!
