I have been covering Silver Stick hockey for what seems the better part of my last three weeks here at the paper.Only two more days until we start the madness all over again in about a year. All the kids bring pins to represent their teams and the tournament has an official pin and its cool to trade them. Kind of reminds me of my girl scout days.

Amaryllis
So ever since my second year away at school I have been growing Amaryllis at Christmas time or a little after only because I can get a deal on the bulbs. I enjoy them. When it's cold outside it's nice to have something to keep me hopeful for spring. They seem to grow better for me planted in stones than dirt, but what ever works I guess. This year my intention was to give them away but as you can see I have kept this one for myself. It looks good on my Kitchen table.

Thaw
Today for the second day in a row I spent the day driving around looking for anything that would suggest the fact that it could flood in the next day or two. The January thaw has caused a lot of snow to melt and we are supposed to get rain over the next day or two. I snapped this one of Mill Creek getting close to going over its banks in Brockway Township. The little guys was happy to see the snow retreat. It gave him a chance to uncover his nut.
